Rather than thinking of irregular verbs, think of verbs that have irregular forms.
Most of the forms of so-called 'irregular verbs' are, in fact, regular. The handful of irregular forms stand out, making them quite easy to memorize.
There are 18 important verbs with irregular forms, and here they are divided into 3 sets of 6.
